Simple, efficient, fun, versatile, dynamic... these are the usual attributes of our Shan 5 but...
...Some stories aren’t planned. They just click.
While Victor, our graphic designer was riffing on a Rock ’n’ Roll-inspired design for the Shan 5, we got a message from Pierre-Antoine Roiron — luthier, mountain biker, and founder of Atelier Roiron… and it struck a chord.
From that moment, we knew what had to be done: co-develop a limited edition frame and an electric guitar, together. The result is the Ridecaster — a Shan 5 that draws on the spirit of legendary guitars from the 50s and 60s: Gretsch, White Falcon, plus a wink to the Strat… and plenty of volume (up to 11...)
The film below follows the story of that collaboration, our trip to Pierre-Antoine’s workshop, and the moment where we trade two creations — frame and fretboard — born from the same fire.
The RideCaster is limited to 100 units.
Built to ride. Designed to rock.

Shan 5 Ridecaster... twist the throttle, hit the trail—this is full-volume corner shredding on two wheels.
Features

A fine combination of high strength steel and Carbon composites allowed us to optimise the dynamics characteristics of the chassis.
The front triangle is made of our 4130 CrMo MCS steel with impeccable strength, high levels of elasticity and fatigue resistance meanwhile we engineered a carbon swingarm which reduce by half the weight of the previous generation. Tailor made lamination of T700 and T800 allowed us to reach the right amount of flex. Less unsprung weight means a more dynamic ride.

The 140mm of R.KTP suspension has been developed across 2 areas: A single-pivot suspension system reduces maintenance to a bare minimum. Suspension can therefore be adjusted for sensitivity from the start and ensuring that 100% of the available travel is used without bottoming out. Lateral constraints are isolated from the shock, ensuring optimal cornering sensitivity and function.

As much as we love the tech stuff, we want you to keep riding with minimal maintenance. That's what the Shan 5 is all about. RIDE!

Rock n Roll. Fender, Gretsch, but all we need is the extra push to go over the cliff. Turn it up to 11. For the newbie, please take a look at "This is Spinal Tap!" ;-) "
