Video: Shan No.6 First Ride Review!

Last year Production Privée showed me the Shan No6 prototype, still on the jigs and half-welded. When the production bike was finally ready, there was only ever going to be one place to give it its first real ride straight out onto Production Privée's home trails in Andorra, bone dry, dusty, and about as unforgiving as trails get.

I've put together a full video walking through everything that's changed since that prototype, the shock mount reworked so it'll take pretty much anything you throw at it, the switch to Reynolds air-hardening steel on the front triangle and the laser-sintered BB junction which had reduced weight by as much as 150g!

Sitting on the Shan No. 6, the suspension feels almost bottomless, and then you ride it and it all makes sense. It's poppy when you want it to be, composed when you get it wrong, and it puts you in a position on the bike that made a full 29er feel like a mullet through the tight stuff. Confidence-inspiring is overused as a phrase, but I mean it here.
